Viva Sabor A Baja!

During our Mexico foodie road trip last March we ran into the amazingly talented Abril Echavarria.  When we met her she was creating a cook book, had less than 200 followers on Instagram and didn’t have a website but she was bubbling over with enthusiasm that was downright infectious. We’ve been following her journey over these past few months and when we checked in last week she had grown to over 3000 followers in just a few months. Clearly a force to be reckoned with, we sat down to catch up with Abril and find out how she did it and where she’s going next.

Although she currently calls San Diego home, she belongs to what she calls “the Hybrid Culture,” born in America but raised in Baja, Mexico. Abril is a mother of two wonderful kids, one with autism. On her blog Roads to Baja she shares her personal story and trips back to Baja and across the US. The blog is full of her warmth and enthusiasm for food, family and travel.  It takes us on journeys with her and invites us into another culture through food not as an observer but as part of the family. Abril’s Instagram is infused with her memorable personality and beauty. Each post is a little glimpse into her life of food, family and fun and it’s easy to see why she has gained popularity so quickly. Her authenticity, clear vision and unique story make her a stand out. Abril worked spent countless hours growing her instagram so her “overnight success” was certainly hard earned, however one comment from Jessica Alba and Sabor was on fire.   She’s now developing her
